Kathmandu, 18th January,2015 :Â Five airports including the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) in the country are now available fit for operating flights during the night.
According to Civil Aviation of Nepal (CAAN) the TIA, Biratnagar, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj and Simara Airports have been made safe for operating the night flights of late.
The CAAN has prepared necessary infrastructure to operate the night flights at Simara airport as per the government’s policy to expand and modernize the air
services for making them more effective and increase people’s access to air services, said CAAN General Manager Ratishchandra Lal Suman.
The CAAN was working to operate night flights in Janakpur, Dhangadhi, and Surkhet Airports while operation of 24 hour-service at Bhairahawa, Nijgadh, and Pokhara will begin by the end of the current fiscal year, said General Manager Suman.
Suman said as many as 32 airports are operating regular service among 56 including six airports that are under construction across the country.
