Biratnagar, Dec 12, 2014: Number of patients has increased due to growing cold in eastern districts following the cold wave that has gripped the region for the past few days.
Mostly, the cold has affected the elderly people and children.
Patients suffering from different diseases including cold and cough, cold diarrhoea, pneumonia and respiratory problems have increased at Biratnagar-based Koshi Zonal Hospital due to this, said health workers.
Now, around 300 patients visit the hospital every day. With the increasing number of patients, the emergency ward lacks beds.
Patients from 16 districts of the eastern region as well as from Indian bordering areas also visit the hospital for the treatment.
