Damauli, September 2, 2016: A police team comprising of district police office and traffic police office, has officially started cutting down tree branches on both sides of the road along Prithvi Highway on the Muglin-Kotre Road section.

SP Krishna Kumar Mahat of District Police Office, Tanahun, officially initiated the campaign and reported that the work to cut down branches of trees and trim bushes along the road section began today.

He said the police team started the campaign with the aim of preventing possible road accidents.

In-charge Gyanendra Bahadur Thapa of District Traffic Police Office, Tanahun, said that they found this a necessary measure as several investigations into past accidents indicated that overgrown branches of the trees and bushes had obstructed the view of drivers.

“The drivers cannot see vehicles coming from the opposite direction due to the foliage,” he added.
