Kathmandu, June 9, 2015: Kalyan Kumar Shrestha senior-most justice of the Supreme Court (SC), has been recommended as the future chief Justice by the Constitutional Council(CC’s).
According to the Law Minister Narahari Acharya who is the member of the Council recommended Shrestha’s name as the future chief justice in a meeting of the council held at the Prime Minister’s Official Residence at Baluwatar today.
Ram Kumar Prasad Shah the incumbent chief justice is retiring on July 9, the retiring chief justice stays on home leaves before a month.
Shrestha would be appointed as the Chief Justice by the President after CC’s recommendation would be forwarded to the Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee (PHSC) for parliamentary hearing.
