Mahottari, Feb 12, 2015: Health workers were found reusing the surgical tools used at a Family Planning Health Camp held in the district recently by simply cleaning them.
The District Health Office, Mahottari, has been found reusing the disposable surgical tools. Accepting that they have been doing so, officials at the Health Office said they were compelled to do so as medical equipment provided to the hospital were not sufficient.
The hospital is also using reusable surgical tools without proper sterilization, locals complained.
The District Hospital supported by various organizations has been conducting the vasectomy camp in its MCH Building.
As many as 800 people have undergone vasectomy at the camp so far. Around 50 persons take the service daily, said Bijay Kumar Yadav, focal point of the Health Camp.
