Ilam, November 30, 2015: In last three fiscal years steady increment is seen in the The number of taxpayers in Illam according to Taxpayer Service Office, Ilam.
A total of 6,000 new taxpayers have been registered at the Inland Revenue Department’s Office established by Ministry of Finance. The Office was set up in Ilam in 2012, according to Anmol Dahal, Chief of Taxpayer Service Office, Ilam.
The Office now boasts of altogether 9,000 tax payers which initially saw registration of 2,800 of them, shared Dahal.
The revenue collection in the first four months in the current fiscal year stands at Rs 50 million, it was shared.
In the last fiscal year the Office was successful in collecting a total of Rs 130 million.
Special schemes and programs, including tax education were launched by the Taxpayer Service Office, Ilam, during the week-long National Revenue Day celebration observed in all other such offices across the country to encourage the tax payers, according to Dahal.
