Pathari, Nov 4,2014: Two dozens of brick kilns of Koshi zone have been closed down due to unmanageable operational cost.
A big number of brick kilns has witnessed closure in the first six months of the current fiscal year, said advisor to Koshi Brick Entrepreneur Association Murari Regmi.
With the shutdown of brick kilns, the entrepreneurs’ investment of worth over 1 billion went in vain. The main reason attributing to the closure of brick factories are increasing brick production cost and sky-rocketing price for coal and wagers.
Among the brick factories shut down are Pranam, Arun, Prime, Rajdhani, Laxmi, Utsab, Himal, KBC, Arati, LLB and Nimesh.
