Kathmandu, 26 February, 2015 : Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has said that violence and crime against women were unpardonable.
Talking to a delegation led by the Unified Maoist leader Shashi Shrestha at his official residence Baluwatar today, PM Koirala said that the government was alert in such cases and crimes and they were deplorable and intolerable for the government.
The women’s delegation reached the PM residence demanding action against the culprit involved in throwing acid on girls recently in the capital.
PM Koirala assured the team that the culprits would be brought to book.
On the occasion, Minister for Law and Justice Narhari Acharya said that the Ministry was preparing to increase the severity of the penalty to the offenders involved in incest and other serious crimes as domestic violence. Violence against women inside the home is alarming, Minister Acharya added.
