13 December, 2015: We are always into a thought on what to wear, be it from a styling perspective or getting out with outfit to deal with the day. And while throwing out a names from our clothing comes “jeans”, as we throw on this pieces themselves. We hardly ever stop to think for jeans on how will it look on us. But how many of us really stop to think where does the word “jeans/denim” come from? And when did we start using it? What’s the story?

Well here is a short digging on Jeans with a quite backstory. So read on;

Their history has been for centuries. Though jeans as we know date back to the 20th century, when Levi Strauss first brought in but the origins of jeans can be traced back from 17th century. Until the late 19th century we began to see jeans that resemble the styles we know today. And there so the Levi’s was born.

Jeans were simply sturdy trousers worn by factory workers. It quickly became essential to the working man’s wardrobe and associated with utilitarian clothing. During old period, men’s had the zipper down the front, whereas women’s had the zipper down the left side. By the 1960s, both men’s and women’s jeans had the zipper down the front. Historic photographs indicate that in the decades before they became a staple of fashion.
