New science teachers could not appointed as most of people with science education have yet to acquire a valid teaching license.

The teachers without license left the schools after their salary was discontinued.

Although the District Education Office released the salary of the teachers for the months of July/August and August/September of the current fiscal year, the teachers left the schools after the Department of Education ordered the DEO not to release the salary of such teachers.

Principal of the Khurkot-based Kalika Secondary School, Baburam Sharma, said that they have put up advertisements to recruit new science teachers.

They have been facing problem to appoint new science teacher as the district has few number of teachers who have a B. Ed degree in science.

Officiating District Education officer, Laxman Devkota, said that it has been difficult to find science teachers holding license.

Devkota added that most of the schools would face difficulties to run science classes for lack of teacher if any alternate measures were not adopted to fulfill the scarcity of teachers.
