Bardibas, 20 October 2014: The Secretary of the UCPN (Maoist), Barshaman Pun stated that his party is committed towards the promulgation of a new constitution in the slated time.
Pun, also the former Finance Minister, expressed so on Sunday in a ‘Tihar and Chhat’ greetings exchange programme organized by his party at Belgacchi in Mahottari district.
Speaking to the press, Secretary Pun reiterated that his party, through the constitution, has been working towards ensuring the rights to the citizens who long have been deprived of opportunities and rights.
The deadline of the promulgation of the constitution is on January 22 next year.
He was of the opinion that the constitution, which is in the making, must ensure that the people of all castes, creed and social classes could take pride in being a Nepali.
The Standing Committee Member of the party Gopal Kiranti, Politburo member Bishwabhakta Dulal, Central Committee Member Dip Bahadur Yonjan, Bharat Prasad Sha and Tulsi Prasad Dhungana attended the programme.
