Nawalpur: Construction of Wildlife corridor in the course of expanding it at several places along the Narayangadh-Butwal road section of the East-West Highway.

Chief of the Road Expansion Project Eastern Sector, Mr. Sujan Adhikari said” Bridge-like structures are to be constructed to facilitate the movement of wild animals. At least 15 such bridges will be constructed in the Nawalpur area of East Nawalparasi under the Narayangadh-Butwal section of the highway.”

In the first section of the Narayangadh-Butwal road, the bridges will be constructed from Gaindakot to Daunne. This is mostly the forest area and the buffer zone of the Chitwan National Park lies close to this area. The wildlife corridor would be constructed after scoping out the areas where there is greater movement of wild animals.

According to him, these structures would be constructed providing passage to the wild animals underneath the highway. The existing culverts constructed on the highway would be upgraded into wildlife passage at nearly 10 places.
