Kathmandu, December 18, 2016:Â Member of Political Bureau and Secretariat of Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chief of the CPC Publicity Department of the Peopleâ€™s Republic of China, Liu Qibao, paid a courtesy call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari at Sheetal Niwas on Sunday.
On the occasion, they held a discussion on various issues including further strengthening the Nepal-China relations.
Present on the occasion were the members of the Chinese delegation and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Yu Hong, according to the Office of the President.
Similarly, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Krishna Bahadur Mahara held bilateral talks with Liu. During the talks, matters of mutual interests were discussed. DPM Mahara hosted a dinner in honor of Liu Qibao and his delegation.
CPC Publicity Department Chief Liu and his delegation were received at the VIP lounge of the Tribhuvan International Airport by senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Mr. Liu will also attend the opening ceremony of the 7th China Festival in Kathmandu organized jointly by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Civil Aviation of Nepal, Ministry of Culture of China and Embassy of China in Nepal. The Festival will conclude on 22 December 2016.
Liu is accompanied by senior officials of the International Department and Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China. Chief of CPC Publicity Department Liu and the delegation is here on a three-day visit.
