Nepal APF clinch title of 7th International Women’s Football

Kathmandu: Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) team has lifted the title of the 7th CoAS International Women’s championship.

Nepal APF Club defeated Tribhuvan Army Club 2-0 in the final of the 7th CoAS International Women’s Football Competition at Nepal Army Headquarters.

Ms. Saru Limbu and Ms. Rekha Poudel scored one goal apiece for the fifth time. The APF  has received Rs 300,000, while runners-up TAC has taken Rs 150,000.

Defeated semi-final Nepal Police Club and Bhutan earned Rs 50,000 each. Ms. Deepa Rai of TAC was the tournament’s best player and she received a scooter.

APF’s Ms. Anjali Tumbafo Subba (goalkeeper), Ms. Pooja Rana Magar (defender), Ms. Sabitra Bhandari (forward) and Janak Singh (coach) received the awards, while Bhutan’s Ms. Pema Chhoden Chhiting was declared the best midfielder. They got Rs 10,000 each.

Ms. Bimala BK of TAC was declared the best-emerging player and she received Rs 25,005 from the Nepalese Army Wives Association. A total of eight teams took part in the event.
