Kawasoti,3 Dec 2014: Fire broke out at the office of the Samarthya Weekly Newspaper, Tuesday night. The weekly is being published from Kawasoti.

Property worth around Rs 5 million was gutted in the fire, according to the Area Police Office, Kawasoti. The incident took place due to electricity leakage, it is learnt.

The fire destroyed different goods including four computers, two photocopy machines, two printers, one printing machine, cutting machine, five chairs and four tables, said newspaper publisher Buddhi Sagar Pokhrel.

Meanwhile, issuing a press release, Press Chautari Nepal, Nawalparasi, said that the entire Press Chautari has been stunned from the fire incident at the newspaper office.

The press release also demanded the government to provide rightful compensation to the Samarthya Weekly as there was no situation of publishing newspapers at the present as the fire had destroyed all goods.
