NRB says Rs 2.33 billion citizens saving bonds subscribed

Kathmandu, 10 June, 2015 : A total of Rs 2.33 billion Citizens Saving Bonds has been subscribed during the stipulated time, said The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB).

On May 26, bonds of Rs 2.5 billion were issued calling for investors to flow money to the citizens saving bonds at the interest rate of 8 per cent till June 9. However, NRB said that the citizens saving bonds of Rs 160 million were not sold.

Nar Bahadur Thapa, Executive Director at the central bank said that the bonds were subscribed as per the capacity of investors. He also said that public attraction might have been moderate due to slim chances of rise in worth of bonds.
