Babiyachour (Myagdi), Aug 17: More than 90 % households in Myagdi district have now access to pure drinking water facilities.
According to the District Drinking Water and Sanitation Sub-Division Office, Myagdi, access of safe and pure drinking water facilities has been extended to 19,526 households, out of 21,636 households in the district, till the fiscal year 2070-71 BS.
Chief at the Office, Engineer Shekhar Chandra KC, said that out of the total households in the district, pure drinking water facilities were extended to 90.15 per cent households.
According to the Office, around 2,133 households are still found using water of well and rivulets.The District Drinking Water and Sanitation Office and Sanitation and Hygiene Coordination Committee have already prepared a strategy to extend the access of pure drinking water to all households in the district.
Coordinator of the Sanitation and Hygiene Coordination Committee, Local Development Officer Bishnu Prasad Sharma said that they have set a target to expend the pure drinking water facilities to all the Myagdi folks within 2017.
