 Kathmandu, 11 Jan 2015: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has congratulated Mr Maithripala Sirisena on his election as the President of Sri Lanka.
“I, on behalf of the Government and people of Nepal as well as my own, would like to congratulate Your Excellency on your election to the high office of the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka,” President Yadav said in a congratulatory message to his Sri Lankan counterpart today.
Stating that Nepal and Sri Lanka have been enjoying cordial relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations in July 1957, President Yadav expressed the confidence that these relations would continue to grow under Mr Sirisena’s dynamic leadership.
The President wished for Sirisena’s successful tenure as the President of Sri Lanka and also for his good health and happiness as well as continued peace and prosperity of the friendly people of Sri Lanka.
