Pulukisi Festival Likely To Stop This Year

Bhaktapur, September 4: The main cultural festival of Bhaktapur district ,Pulukisi Jatra is most probably be stopped due to the financial crisis this year. A replica of the legendary Airawat elephant, as tha part of the festival is taken around the ancient town.

The chief of the local community ,Moti Bhahadur Suwal is responsible for organizing the festival. there is the prediction that they will be unable to run the festival if the Guthi Sansthan doesn’t assist it financially.

As per the lunar calender the festival is annually organized on the day of Aswin Krishna Chauthi but it is almost going to be postponed because of financial crunch this year added by Suwal.

Moreover Rs 4500 has been allocated for the festival but the festival organizer are demanding more fund said by the chief of the Bhaktapur Guthi Santhan Lekhnath Sapkota .he argued that the festival would be running at any cost by holding dialogue with concerned bodies.
