Rescue operations continue (Mustang)

Babiyachaur (Myagdi), 18 October 2014: The rescue works for the people missing after the snow-storm in Mustang, Manang and Dolpa districts have been continued since early this morning.

The rescue operation is focused in the areas of Thorangla, Upper Dolpa and Mustang, according to the District Police Office, Mustang.Nepal Army has mobilized helicopters for searching the missing ones in the areas, it is learnt.

Mustang police has informed that two persons found injured at Tenje of Dolpa district were airlifted to Kathmandu by Nepal Army this morning.

The injured were a Swiss national and his aide. Similarly, a dead body of Japanese woman was found at Thorangla area Friday evening.

A joint team of Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force has intensified rescue operations in the blizzard hit areas since last Tuesday, said Baburam Bhandari, Chief District Officer, Mustang.

A total of 11 bodies have been sent to Kathmandu so far, CDO Bhandari added. According to the local administration, 150 people have been rescued alive so far in Mustang district.
