Dadeldhura, Aug. 7: The disruption of transport services in the rural areas of Dadeldhura has made hard life for people. Transport to different rural areas here remains cut off as the rural roads remain damaged by flood and landslide.As many as six rural roads are in a damaged condition following flood and landslide at different sections of these roads.
Flood has damaged the Pokhara-Belapur, Sallaghari-Koteli, Sakayal-Kailapalmandu, Ugratara-Ajayameru, Ugratara-Melauli, Raduwa Parikhet-Badal roads at different places.These rural and agricultural roads remain damaged since the third week of July.
Transport services to more than a dozen VDCs in the district remain cut off due to this. It has become even difficult to get food grains in these VDCs, it is learnt. There is a shortage of essential commodities and this has spurred inflation.The District Development Committee (DDC) Dadeldhura said efforts are on to repair the damaged roads but the repair works have been delayed due to the massive damage.
