Students Sell Potato to Learn Computer

Babiyachaur (Myagdi), 26 Oct. 2014: Where there is a will, there is a way. The saying fits the efforts of the students from a secondary school here. Their efforts show how essential the knowledge of computer is in these days.

The students from Amar Secondary School at Chimkhola have collected more than Rs 100,000 and set up a fund to suffice the school budget to run computer classes.

The potato is collected from the competitions named ‘Who has big potato’. The competition has been organized for three years. The potato collected in the competition is sold and the money generated to buy computers for the school, said a teacher Karna Sahi.

The student bringing the biggest potato in the competition is awarded.

Moreover, the students organized deusi and bhailo programmes during Tihar festival at Beni, Galeshwor, Piple and Chimkhola and collected some additional money to the fund.
