Biratnagar, Aug 11: Sansari Maisthan Temple of the eastern Morang, which is important in view of historical, religious and tourism, is at the risk of encroachment.
The temple located on the bank of Chisa khola (rivulet) in Rangeli is at the high risk of the encroachment. It is at the risk after no bodies’ concerned shown activeness to control encroachment of the rivulet.
The risk of encroachment has increased as the rivulet is flowing just some meters away from the temple and reaching closer to the temple gradually.
Thousands of devotees from Morang, Sunsari and Jhapa districts as well as people of India bordering villages visit the temple every Saturday and Tuesday, said Chairman of the Temple Management Committee, Ram Chandra Mandal.
Committee Treasurer Omkar Thapa said that the temple is at the risk after the concerned organisations including District Development Committee did not construct the dam at the rivulet.
