Kathmandu, Sept 6: The Government of Turkey is positive towards investing in Nepal. Turkey’s Industry Minister, during his meeting with Industry Minister Karna Bahadur Thapa, was learnt to have shown his country’s interests in investing in Nepal.

The Turkish Minister promised to visit Nepal in near future to study about investment potentialities in Nepal, according to Joint-Secretary at the Industry Ministry, Maheshwor Neupane, who was also present in the meeting.

On the occasion, Minister Thapa proposed to sign a Bilateral Promotion and Protection Agreement (BIPPA) with Turkey. In response, Turkish government senior officials suggested Nepal send a proposal to that end through the diplomatic channel. The bilateral-meeting agreed to extend formal invitation to Turkish Minister for Science Technology and Industry to visit Nepal and explore the prospects of bilateral help for industrial development.
