Udyapur May 15, 2015: With the collections of around worth Rs. 10 million a 30-km road stretch have been constructed by the locals of Udayapur district’s mid-hill VDC, Balamta.

Balamta VDC Secretary Padma Bahadur Rai said that the road stretching from Majkharka of Iname to the Sunkoshi River bank at Balamta VDC via Katari and Beteni was constructed on people’s initiative.

The Road Construction Users’ Committee Treasurer Parshuram Rai said that to accomplish the road construction the fund consisting of Rs 700,000 from the Electoral Constituency Development Fund, Rs 500,000 from the local political parties and Rs 8.8 million raised by Balamta locals was mobilized.
