Butwal, 20th January,2015 : The cadres of the Unified CPN (Maoist)-led 30-party alliance of the opposition parties including the Mohan Baidhya-led CPN-Maoist have disrupted the internal exams at the Kanti Higher Secondary School in Butwal of Rupandehi district, today.
Normal life in the district has been affected due to the general strike called by the opposition parties. Majority of the educational institutions, industries, business enterprises remained closed due to the general strike in the district.
The banda enforcers disrupted the traffic by holding various protest programmes along the East-West Highway and the Siddhartha Highway sections in different places of the district, police said.
But no unwanted incidents have been reported so far, said police.
The banda enforcers have been holding demonstrations at various corners at Bhairahawa and Butwal Bazaar, urging the general public to join the protest.
Meanwhile, Chambers of Commerce and Industries, Butwal, issued a press statement and urged the parties concerned not to organize programmes of general strike stating that it leaves very bad effects in the entire process of national development and thereby to the national economy.
The statement appeals one and all to be united and move ahead for the lasting peace and prosperity of the country.
