Kathmandu, 10 March, 2015 : President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has urged the Unified CPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal to create the environment for writing constitution forging political consensus among the partners of the People’s Movement II.
President Dr Yadav alerted Dahal that the protests organized by any side at this time would do no good to any political forces, stressing on the need of holding talks and forging consensus on the disputed issues of the constitution writing process.
During the telephone talks between President Dr Yadav and UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Dahal, President Dr Yadav said it would be better to move ahead coordinating the partners of the People’s Movement II and that Chairman Dahal’s role would be important as he is one of the signatories of the Comprehensive Peace Accord.
“The President has urged the UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Dahal to forward the constitution writing process forging political consensus through talks,” Chairman Dahal’s personal secretary Chudamani Khadka told RSS. President Yadav called Dahal at a time when the 30-party alliance of the opposition parties led by the UCPN (Maoist) was preparing to declare second round of its protest programme, today, citing the ruling parties were not for positive talks.
In response, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Dahal said the constitution that has ownership of all should be written and for this holding meaningful talks and forging political consensus was a must, Khadka quoted Dahal as saying in talks with the President.
President Dr Yadav expressed his gratitude to the political parties for starting talks and urged them to give continuity to it for forging political consensus and settlling the disputed issues of the constitution writing process.
Meanwhile, the 30-party alliance of the opposition parties would hold a meeting today and discuss on the latest political situation, the political talks held between the parties and the second round of its protest, among others, Dahal’s personal secretary Khadka said.
