International Skiing Competition Concludes

Kathmandu, 12 January, 2018: ‘International Skiing Competition’ organized by Himalayan Ski Trek has finally come to an end on the last week of December, 2017.

As per The Himalayan News Service, Himalayan Ski Trek has been organizing winter mountain festival since 2012 with a view of encouraging mountain tourism. Furthermore, HST has also conducted skiing training in Muktinath, Gosaikunda and Dhaulagiri regions.

According to the company, despite of being a mountainous country with great potential in ski mountaineering, Nepal is still in a struggling stage. Due to the absence of education and promotion such opportunities in Nepal have remained undetermined.

Krishna Thapa, Chairman of HST stated that more than 300 Nepali youths have been instantly benefited till date and the numbers are expanding every year. Earlier in the last week of December, 60 Nepali and half a dozen foreign participants were involved in the sixth winter mountain ski festival which was successfully conducted at the heart of Annapurna Region, Muktinath.
