Lahan, April 5: Locals of Chandrodayapur VDC-1 have banned the Choharba-based Maruti Cement tippers from plying on the road for the past eight days.
Locals banned tippers that carry lime stones for the cement factory arguing that the heavy-loaded tippers led to deterioration of the roads.
As a result, the cement factory has faced shortage of raw materials.
The locals have further complained that the pollution caused due to transportation of the limestone has deteriorated the health of the people living nearby the roadside, said Bhim Prasad Gautam, chairman of the protesting committee. RSS
