NEPAL BEATS BANGLADESH IN SECOND FRIENDLY

20140824-180317-64997496.jpgKathmandu, August 29:  Nepal defeated Bangladesh in a friendly football match played under the U-23 category on Friday at the Silhet Stadium of Bangladesh.

In that match, Nepal won 1-0 , Sushil KC struck the solitary goal in the 79th minute of the match.

The friendly was the second and the last of the preparatory matches played against Bangladesh for the upcoming 17th Asian Sports Tournament (ASIAD) which is to be held soon in the South Korea.

Nepal had lost the first friendly played on 26 August by the same margin.

In ASIAD, Nepal faces a formidable challenge as it faces defending champion Japan, and former winner Iraq, and Kuwait in the Group D of the competition.

Nepal has so far participated for five times in the ASIAD but still to capitalize as the country had not even managed a draw.

The football matches will start five days before the inauguration ceremony of the ASIAD. Nepal will play Iraq on 14th September and Kuwait on 17. The last game of the selection round will be played against Japan on 21 September.Altogether 29 countries are participating in football competition.
