Kathmandu, Sept. 8: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav observed the Indrajatra festival at Hanuman Dhoka (Basantapur) of Kathmandu today. On the occasion, the chariots of Lord Ganesh and Bhairav, and of living goddess Kumari were taken out in the courtyard of the Durbar Square.
Onthe special occasion Vice-president, Prime Minister, Chief Justice, Speaker, Heads of Constitutional Bodies and representatives of the diplomatic community were also present. Likewise, a large number of local residents and members of the general public had gathered around the Durbar square premises to observe the festival organized as per age-old traditions to please Indra, the god of heaven and rain.
