Hetauda, October 18: Province 3 government has introduced a new programme to improve the condition of government hospitals in the province.
As per the programme, around 95 million rupees has been allocated for eight hospitals in as many districts to equip these hospitals with modern facilities and upgrade services. “Once we receive the directory with minimum service criteria for hospitals from the federal government, we’ll start the process and do the needful to enhance the hospitals’ quality to meet the criteria,” said Social Development Minister Mr. Yubaraj Dulal.
Further, Dulal informed that there might be few problems in the implementation phase owing to the fact that it was the first time the provincial government was working to implement its programmes. He said-“The provincial government will be directly involved in this programme to create an environment where people can easily trust government hospitals.”
The amount allocated under the programme will be used to purchase necessary equipment, manage garbage, construct physical infrastructure and the likes, said the ministry. Further, according to the Ministry, Rs 15 million has been allocated for Hetauda and Bhaktapur hospitals each. Similarly, Nuwakot’s Trishuli Hospital, Sindhuli Hospital and Dhading Hospital each will receive Rs 12.5 million.
While 10 million rupees each has been allocated for Ramechhap Hospital and Sindhupalchowk’s Chautara Hospital, 7.5 million rupees has been allocated for Rasuwa Hospital.
