Kathmandu, Sept 9: Newly elected assistant general secretary Bhishma Raj Ojha and central committee member Rajaram Karki of Nepal Press Union–Nepali Congress aligned journalists’ association–have been honoured here Tuesday. The Press Union chapter of Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) organized a felicitation programme at the RSS central office and wished for their successful tenure.
Â On the occasion, RSS Chairman Kulchandra Wagle expressed confidence that the winners shall play role to maintain their identity of RSS in their thoughts, norms and performance. RSS Chairman Wagle hoped that the tenure of the winners would be completed successfully and suggested them to carry out their jobs in a way to take the leadership of the NPU in the days ahead.
On the occasion, Deputy General Manager of RSS Shreeram Singh Basnet urged the elected figures to raise the issues at the central level for the development of RSS along with the development of the entire journalism sector. Likewise, Deputy General Manager of RSS Nirmala Acharya urged them to work to leave better impressions to their voters.
Â Speaking at the programme, newly elected assistant general secretary Ojha expressed his commitment to begin the work for the welfare of the working journalists from the RSS itself. RSS central office’s staffers Ojha and Karki, Bhojpur correspondent Chandrakala Rai, Kohalpur correspondent Jaya Singh KC, Khagendra Bhattarai from Karnali zone and Lal Bahadur Yeri from Far-Western Region were elected in the central committee of the NPU from the general convention held in Pokhara.
