Kathmandu, August 10, 2015:Â At the age of 83, senior politician and litterateur Rajeshwor Devkota has passed away,Â 5:00 am this morning .
Devkota died at Bansbari-based Neuro Hospital duringÂ treatment . As stated byÂ Anil Yogi, Devkota’s assistant, he was detailedÂ to have been infected with pneumonia.
Devkota is survived by father, a son and two daughters. For the last accolade, his mortal remains would be kept at the Nepal Academy at Kamaladi . At the Pashupati Aryaghat, his final ceremonyÂ would be performed today itself.
Born at Pandit Gaun in Gorkha, one of the first-of-its-kind students’ actÂ of Nepal held in 1951, Â Devkota was one of the front runnerÂ of the Jayam Sanskritam Aandolan.
Devkota was the founder of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party , also the chairman of the Rastriya Panchayat. He was also administratorÂ of the Rastrabadi Abhiyan, patriotic movement.
MostlyÂ in the realmÂ Â of fiction, the Former Minister Devkota was proficientÂ Â in literature. In 1987, for his novel ‘Utsarga Prem’, he was awarded with Madan Purakshar. Amongst others, he was also awarded with reputedÂ awards like Bhanu Puraskar ,Sanjha Puraskar, and Bednidhi Puraskar.
