Senior Vice-president Of ANFA Lalit Krishna Shrestha Passes Away

Kathmandu, June 13: Acting President of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA)Lalit Krishna Shrestha has passed away due to electric shock last night.

According to Executive Officer of ANFA Indraman Tuladhar, he was electrocuted as he was working with the wiring of the house.The 49-year-old Shrestha had just shifted to a new house in Bhaisepati after his previous home in Mangalbazaar was damaged due to recent earthquake.

Tuladhar said that Shrestha’s body has been kept at the Three Star Club in Mangalbazaar this morning and will be shifted to the ANFA complex Satdobato later today for those wishing to pay final respects and he will be cremated at Pashupati Aryghat today itself.

Tuldhar further added that the unexpected and untimely demise of Shrestha is a massive loss to the entire sports sector while the Nepali football sector has lost a legend and a very friendly person.

The late Shrestha was also President of the Three Star football club. Senior Vice-president of ANFA, Shrestha had been serving as the acting president of the Association after incumbent President Ganesh Thapa opted out to help with the investigation over his alleged role in financial irregularities as head of the national association.He also he had been at the helm for three consecutive terms.
