Kathmandu, February 20, 2018: Student Council of Kathmandu College of Management (KCM) is set to organize the finale of the ’14th KCM Inter-College Music Competition’ on February 24, 2018, at Jawlakhel Football Ground. The event aims to create a platform for the emerging bands to showcase their musical skills and connect with youths as well as music enthusiasts of all age groups around the country.
The event is one of the most popular and most awaited music competitions in the country. Every year the event is organized to bring up musicians from all over Nepal in a single stage. The 10 qualifying bands to participate in the event are Shreekali from AIMS college, On your mark from Golden Gate International College, Chihaan from Budanilkantha College, Incandicent from Kaleidoscope Music Academy, Blue skin from Kastamandap Arts Studio, Famous Last Wishes from S3 Music Academy, Of Quiet Echoes from Little Angel’s College, Buttons off from Nepal Music Center, Rectifier from Royal Music Academy and NS 1134 from Unique College.
The qualifying rounds of the event took place on February 16 and 17 on the premises of Kathmandu College of Management (KCM) at Gwarko. 15 bands participated in the event and they had performed two songs each out of which one was their self-composed song. The three jury members had judged the performers and out of 15 bands, 10 bands were selected consisting of 8 bands chosen on the basis of remarks through judges and through voting and 2 bands chosen through judges’ favorite and crowds favorite. The band scoring highest points on the judges’ score sheet, other than the winning band, was titled as Judges Favorite and the band getting the highest SMS votes was titled Crowds Favorite.
Kathmandu College of Management(KCM) has been organizing Inter College Music Competition since long and it is one of the oldest and the biggest music competitions of the country. The previous runners-up of Inter College Music Competition were Crown of Thrones and The Inception.
