Japan provides Rs. 1.475 billion Grant for Restoration of micro hydro

flagofnepaljapanKathmandu, Apr. 22:  The Government of Japan have agreed to provide a grant assistance of Rs. 1.475 billion for the restoration of the micro hydro projects in western region.

The assistance through JICA will help improve living standards of the people of the region by generating electricity after repairing dysfunctional equipment of the projects.

The agreement to this effect was signed by Finance Secretary Yubaraj Bhusal and Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Masashi Ogawa. It will be used for 230 kW hydel of Bajhang, 228 Kw project of Bajura and Syarpu Danda of Rukum.

On the occasion, Finance Secretary Bhusal said the grant will be helpful in bringing positive change in the life of people when the rural areas are yet to be linked to national grid.
