Kathmandu, 14 July, 2015 : Rastrakavi Madhav Prasad Ghimire has said that language, culture and heritage are the bases of national identity, therefore, efforts should be made  to promote and preserve such identity.
To mark the 202nd birth anniversary of pioneering poet Bhanubhakta Acharya today, Rastrakavi Ghimire conferred the Bhanubhakta Award to RD Prabhas Chataut.
On the occasion, he said, “The award recipient Chataut’s contribution to the protection and promotion of the Doteli language was quite unforgettable.â€According to him, Nepal’s culture is spread throughout the country.
The award carries a letter of felicitation letter and a purse of Rs 125,000. Chataut who is a BA in English language, has translated Kalo Surya penned by Bharat Jangam into the Doteli language.
Speakers spoke on the contribution of pioneering poet Acharya to Nepali language and literature.
