Bhadrapur,24 March 2015: A fire broke out in Phuling Bazaar of Taplejung district has destroyed property worth Rs 270 million.
The inferno razed 37 houses in the locality whereas seven other houses were deliberately destroyed aiming at preventing fire from further spread.
The fire is said to have broken out due to short circuit at a local hotel.
Since almost all of the houses razed in the fire had shops in its buildings, the loss of properties incurred in the incident is estimated to be huge.
Meanwhile, expressing sorrow over the massive fire incident, various political parties’ leaders have voiced concern and demand the government to grant due reliefs and compensation packages to victims.
Nepali Congress leader Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged the government provide with basic facilities of food and shelter to fire victims.
Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairperson Pashupati Shumsher JB Rana has expressed his sympathy and demanded the government to distribute compensation package to the victim at the earliest.
